FAQ’S – THE BUFFALO RUN, VIETNAM:

What days do the tours run?

The Trip departs twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

When’s the deadline to book a tour?

You must confirm your place 24 hours before departure, however we highly recommend paying your deposit as soon as possible in order to reserve your place as places get booked up fast!

What’s the accommodation like?

Accommodaion is generally twin shared accommodation. This also depends on the size of the group too. The first night is either twin shared or four people to a room for bigger groups. When we hit Hue city, we stay in the Hue Backpackers Hostel. This is dorm style accommodation. All the rest if the trip it’s twin shared. However, if specifically requested, we can arrange for private accommodation at a small extra fee.

Will transport back to Hanoi be included?

We can certainly arrange transport for you back to Hanoi if you like – but this is not included in the trip as many backpackers choose to stay in beautiful Hoi An for a little while longer – or continue their trip to south Vietnam – Nha Trang, Mui Ne and Ho Chi Minh City. If you’d like to return however, that’s no problem, we can arrange extra transport back to Hanoi – the cost would be cheap, probably $20 USD.

Where do I meet the tour?

Tours depart from either Hanoi Backpackers’ Hostel (Downtown) 48 Ngo Huyen Lane or Hanoi Backpackers’ Hostel (The original) 9 Ma May Street in Hanoi. Please check departure location and times on the tour itinerary you are booking with the trip organiser once you have reserved your place.

What’s the food like?

Our emphasis is on fresh food wherever possible and our meals are nutritious and varied. If you are vegetarian or do not eat seafood we can cater for you, but if you have very specific dietary needs you may need to provide your own food, please discuss this at time of booking.

How fit do I have to be?

Ours are active tours so a reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability is needed. If you enjoy kayaking through caves, swimming in sheltered bays or rock climbing in pristine national parks and directly experiencing the environment then our tours are perfect for you. If you have any doubts about your suitability for our tours, please check with our Reservations Department before making a booking. NOTE: Activities vary in duration and grade depending on the trip chosen.

Do I have to participate?

Part of the enjoyment of our tours is bonding with a group of like-minded adventurers so we make them active and hands on. Full involvement is normally one of the highlights of the trip but no one can force you to do something you don’t want to do.
