Croatia Island Hopper, 8 days sailing

There’s no beating Croatia’s Dalmatian coast for an 8 day, 7 night chill out. Spend an unforgettable week sailing on a beautiful vintage boat. Relax and let the captain and his crew (especially the cook!) spoil you while you contemplate whether to swim, sunbathe or do a bit of sightseeing. Think crystal clear seas, tiny walled cities, eclectic islands and long nights sampling local food and wine in a traditional konoba.

Day 1
SPLIT TO HVAR

Anchors away, as we set sail on the first day of the best week ever! Settle in with a delicious freshly cooked lunch on board as we take to the high seas and get to know your trip mates over a few beers before our first swim stop in the crystal clear, sparkling blue waters. Today we head to one of Croatia’s most trendy islands, Hvar – a popular celeb hangout. Check out the stunning yachts and gorgeous medieval harbour, wander the markets or head to the ancient fort for some serious photos before we head into the night for Tequila Boom Booms at Kiva Bar before dancing under the stars to top DJs at the infamous Carpe Diem Club! Day 2
HVAR TO MLJET

Awaken to some of the most incredible views on the Dalmatian coast, soak up the beauty as we sail on to Mljet – island paradise and home to one of Croatia’s most stunning National Parks. Check out the salt water lakes, catch a boat out to the secluded abbey (nestled on the island of St Mary in the middle of the largest lake), and take a dip in the warm lake waters, pure bliss! Tonight we’ll dock at the port of Pomena/Polača, our base for the night, ready for a delicious evening barbeque as the sun sets on another gorgeous day. (B, L)

Day 3
MLJET TO DUBROVNIK

Today we head to Dubrovnik, ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, more recently “King’s Landing” in Game of Thrones too, home to some of the best waterfront bars and swim stops on the Croatian Coast. We’ll have an early lunch before arrival to make the most of our time on. Spend the day checking out the sites of the old city, walk the famous medieval city walls (retracing the steps of Lannisters!), chilling on East West beach or exploring many of the hidden beaches around the outer walls of the city itself. This evening it’s time to discover the sounds, smells and tastes of Dubrovnik, its cuisine and nightlife – the local seafood and meat is amazing. After dinner it’s on to Gallerie bar for it’s famous Beach Buckets of cocktails to toast another perfect day of Croatian bliss, before we party hard inside a 15th century fortress at Club Revelin to top tunes on the dance floor. Day 4
DUBROVNIK TO KORCULA

The island of Marco Polo, awaits today. Visit the famous explorer’s birthplace in the Old Town, seek out the stunning Moreška – a unique local sword dance complete with stunning costumes and traditional music – and hear the stories and tales of the island as you explore the incredible stonework of the city with your guide on an orientation walk. Tonight, grab a pizza to satisfy your explorer’s hunger, then it’s time for a cocktail or two at one of the great many sunset bars tucked around the old town before we indulge in the local nightlife! Day 5
KORKULA TO MAKARSKA

Today we hit the seaside resort of Makarska, playground of locals and tourists alike and famous for its long pebble beach, wicked water sports, classy shopping, stunning sunsets and the palm fringed promenade framed by the lofty heights of the Biokovo Mountains. On arrival your Guide will tell you more about this top local riviera before heading in to the town square for an orientation walk and then a few drinks as we watch the sun sink in to the sea. Dinner tonight is at one of the local taverna’s, once again feasting on awesome local cuisine, before a few drinks in town to get the party started. The island is littered with great little clubs and bars. During peak season make sure to Rave in a Cave at the famous Club Deep, an ex. WW2 weapons depot built in to a cave that has now become one of the islands hottest clubs – from war base to party central – Mega! (B, L)

Day 6
MAKARSKA TO OMIS

This morning we’ll cruise across to Pucisca, marble capital of the world. Laze in the turquoise waters of one of the island’s most stunning bays and spend the afternoon relaxing with your trip mates before sailing into pirate waters as we head across to famous Pirate town Omis. After a wander around town and some beach time, get ready to don your best costume for the Captain’s dinner and the infamous Busabout Pirate Party. (B, L)

Day 7
OMIS TO SPLIT

Free time this morning to relax on board or at the beach, chill out with a coffee in town, or get physical on the mountain walk to explore the stunning fortress that once protected the island and its pirate people (with great views across the islands!) before lunch on board as we set sail on to Split for our final night in Dalmatia’s Capital. Explore the stunning Roman Palace of Diocletian, chill out on the Riva waterfront and check out the entertainment and concerts that line the seafront and continue all summer long. This evening it’s cocktails at the very hip Inbox as we celebrate our final night in style and party ‘til dawn to round off a magnificent week’s sail. (B, L)

Day 8
SPLIT

Say goodbye to your fellow pirates and trip mates this morning with check out at 9am. Grab a transfer to the airport from the harbour or link up with the Bohemian or Ottoman Trek to continue your Eastern experience. (B)
