Expose yourself to the cultures and colours of Vietnam’s ethnic minorities on a trek through terraced rice paddies, bamboo groves and thatch villages all in the shadows of Mount Fansipan, the tallest peak in Indochina. This trip is organised by the awesome Vietnam Backpackers’ Hostel where you’re guaranteed to meet like-minded fun people and have an amazing time!

DAY 1

HANOI TO SAPA

Depart our Downtown Hostel in Hanoi at approximately 6.30 am and travel by our super fast shuttle bus to Sapa town and arrive at the Sapa hostel just in time for lunch.

The afternoon is free for you to explore Sapa Town and pick up a cool souvenir from the local market, trek through Cat Cat Village or just chill on the rooftop with a nice cold beer! One of our Travel Gurus will be able to point you in the right direction on what options are available.

DAY 2

SEO TRUNG HO NATIONAL PARK (OVERNIGHT IN HOMESTAY)

After breakfast you are picked up and driven to Ta Van, at the lower end of the famous Sapa valley to start an epic trek to Seo Trung Ho! Located deep in the National Park, off the beaten track, trek through lush bamboo forests and local Hmong villages. It will just be you and your fellow trekkers – we go where no one else does!! After a great day of trekking, you will settle in for the night at an authentic homestay in Seo Trung Ho. Enjoy a local home cooked meal with your host family. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

DAY 3

BAN HO – SAPA – HANOI

After enjoying breakfast at your homestay, you will continue your trek from Seo Trung Ho to Ban Ho a lovely village just outside of the National Park, taking in the amazing scenery.  After stopping for lunch you will continue your trek before being picked up by car in Ban Ho and transferred back to the Sapa hostel. You will travel by the super speedy shuttle bus back to Hanoi and arrive at our Downtown Hostel at approximately 9.30pm.(Breakfast and lunch included).

FANSIPAN EXPERIENCE: TOUCH THE TOP (ADD-ON TRIP!)

Fansipan is known as “the roof of IndoChina” and is approved as one of the very few eco tourist spots of Vietnam.

You will trek to reach the summit height of 3,143 metres. A decent level of fitness is required for this adventure. Please speak to our Travel Gurus in Hanoi for more information and the different travel options available. (Extra cost of $70 USD for Fansipan adventure).

In circumstances beyond the control of Vietnam Backpacker Hostels and the associated tour operators, such as weather conditions, mechanical failure and/or restrictions placed by the National Park Authorities, we reserve the right to alter the route or itinerary of any of its tours and arrange alternative carriers to those advertised if necessary.  NO refunds will be given in these circumstances, or in the event of any delay, curtailment or alteration of the trip. We can not guarantee pick-up or drop-off times and are not liable for passenger failure to connect with other services or any associated costs incurred.

LIABILITY: Whilst we make every effort to safeguard our clients and their belongings, we are not responsible for personal injury or loss/damage to personal belongings or baggage.

IMPORTANT: Passengers should note that this tour involves a higher than normal risk and a signed release will be required from all participants before tour departure.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Travel insurance is NOT included, we strongly recommend that passengers have their own travel insurance against illness, injury, loss/damage to personal belongings and not being able to travel on the confirmed departure date. Here is a good travel insurance specifically for backpackers that we highly recommend.

THE ESSENTIALS:

Comfortable hiking shoes/trainers (you can buy rubber boots at the market in Sapa), passport, swim-stuff, towel, sunscreen, toiletries, raincoat, warm clothes for the cold months of November to March and mosquito repellent.

HOW MUCH LUGGAGE CAN I TAKE?  You will have to carry your own bag while trekking. It is strongly advised to bring a soft overnight bag or day pack. You can also take a small hand carry bag for easy access to camera, sunscreen, water etc.

WHERE DO I MEET THE TRIP? Downtown Hostel Hanoi 9 Ma May Street. Please ask our Travel Desk for current departure times. If you are not present at that time, we regard it as non-attendance. You will not be able to join the trip, and will NOT be refunded.

WHAT DO I EAT? Our emphasis is on fresh food wherever possible and our meals are nutritious and varied. If you are vegetarian or do not eat seafood we can cater for you but you have to pre-specify your needs If you have your own food, please discuss this at time of booking. Our trips are active and adventurous and if you have any doubts about your suitability for our trips, please check with our Travel Team before making a booking.

HOW FIT DO I HAVE TO BE? This is an active trip so a reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability is needed. If you enjoy climbing through caves, swimming in beautiful jungle rivers or just being in pristine national parks and directly experiencing the environment then this trip is perfect for you. If you have any doubts about your suitability for this trip, please check with our Travel Team before making a booking.

DO I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE? Part of the enjoyment of our tours is bonding with a group of like-minded adventurers so we make them active and hands on. Full involvement is normally one of the highlights of the trip but no one will force you to do something you don’t want to do.
